Algeria: Djerad Tenders Resignation of His Government to President Tebboune


Algiers — Prime Minister Abelaziz Djerad tendered Thursday the resignation of his government to President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in accordance with Article 113 of the Constitution and this, following the announcement by the Constitutional Council on Wednesday evening of the final results of the June 12 parliamentary elections.

Article 113 of the Constitution states that “The Prime Minister or the head of government, as appropriate, can submit to the President of the Republic the resignation of the government.

The Constitutional Council had confirmed on Wednesday evening the success, in the June 12 legislative elections, of the National Liberation Front (FLN) party, which came first with 98 seats, followed by the Independents with 84 seats and the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) with 65 seats.
