Algiers — Minister of the National Education Mohamed Ouadjoaut on Sunday gave the official start of the Baccalaureate examination for 2020-2021 school year in the secondary school Ali Boussehaba, in the commune of Draria (west of Algiers).
More than 731,000 candidates will take the baccalaureate examination 2021 in 2,528 centers nationwide in exceptional health conditions because of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The number of candidates that will sit for this examination, scheduled from 20 to 24 June 2021, is 731,723, of whom a total of 459,545 examinees are schooled and 272,178 others are free, according to the National Office for Examinations and Contests (ONEC).
A total of 5,084 detainees will take this examination, i.e. up by 59% compared to the previous session (2020), throughout 47 prisons approved by the Ministry of National Education and exam centers.
