Algeria: President Tebboune – Those Who Choose Boycott Are Free Provided That They Don’t Impose It On Others

Algiers — President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune said Saturday that those who choose to boycott are free, “provided that they do not impose it to others.”

Speaking to reporters after accomplishing his electoral duty, the President of the Republic said that “choosing boycott is a right provided that it is not imposed on others. Everyone is free in this country, but in the respect of others.”

Pointing out that voting is a “national duty,” President Tebboune spoke about the projections on the elections’ results saying that “I have already said that the turnout rate does not interest me. What matters to me is that those who will be elected will have the popular legitimacy which will allow them to exercise legislative power.”
